X Video Download PRO is a browser extension that allows users to download and repost videos from X (formerly Twitter). We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our practices.

Data Collection

This extension does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data. Specifically, we do not collect:

• Personally identifiable information
• Browsing history or web activity
• Authentication credentials
• Cookies or tracking data
• Analytics or usage statistics

How the Extension Works

All processing happens locally on your device:

• Video URLs are resolved via publicly available APIs (vxtwitter.com) solely to locate the video file for download.
• Video files are fetched temporarily into browser memory for downloading or reposting. They are never uploaded to any external server.
• User preferences (enable/disable, watermark settings) are stored locally using Chrome's storage API and never leave your device.
• Watermark processing (FFmpeg) runs entirely in your browser using WebAssembly. No data is sent externally.

Permissions

The extension requests only the permissions necessary for its core functionality:

• activeTab — To detect videos on the current X page and display download buttons.
• downloads — To save video files to your device.
• storage — To save your local preferences.
• scripting — To inject download/repost buttons into tweets.
• offscreen — To run FFmpeg video processing in a background document.
• Host permissions (x.com, twitter.com, video.twimg.com, api.vxtwitter.com) — To access video content on X and resolve video URLs.

Third-Party Services

The extension makes requests to api.vxtwitter.com solely to resolve video download URLs from tweets. No user data is sent in these requests — only the public tweet ID.

Data Security

Since no personal data is collected or transmitted, there is no data at risk. All video processing occurs locally within your browser's sandboxed environment.
